What is Backtrack and how do I use it on my eXplorist

While navigating the GPS receiver stores a series of electronic points displayed on the map screen as small connecting dots. When the backtrack feature is activated the GPS receiver uses the electronic points to assist you back to your starting point. As an example if you are hiking with the GPS receiver turned on it is recording your track. When you are ready to navigate back to the start of your hike you can activate the backtrack feature. To access and activate a backtrack follow the steps below
For eXplorist 110, and 310 models

ENTER is done by pressing down on the Joystick)
Before you take that hike or walk you will want to clear the gps track history from the GPS. To do this press back and select tracks and press enter.
Press menu and select "clear active track."
Once track is cleared the map screen should be free of previous track breadcrumb lines.
Next you take your hike or walk and are ready to return you should see some breadcrumb history on your gps device press menu and select backtrack.
The track will become highlighted green and there will be a position to destination guidance line highlighted in blue that will guide you towards the track.
For eXplorist 510, 610, and 710
Before you take that hike or walk you will want to clear the track history from the GPS. To do this tap onto the map screen to access the 4 corner menu then tap onto the icon in the lower right hand corner to access the main menu then select tracks.
Next on the tracks screen select the contextual menu icon in the lower right hand corner tap onto "Clear active track."
Once track is cleared the map screen should be free of previous track breadcrumb lines.
Next you take your hike or walk and are ready to return you should see some breadcrumb history on your gps device tap onto the map screen to select menu and then tap onto contextual menu in the lower left hand corner.
the contextual menu will appear scroll down and tap onto backtrack.
The track will become highlighted green and there will be a position to destination guidance line highlighted in blue that will guide you towards the track.
