Sometimes the software loaded onto our computers may interfere with Content Manager’s ability to reach out to our servers and update your account with accurate information. Please try the following steps to get your unit updated:
Disable your firewall and/or antivirus software while you are having Content Manager check for updates.
Log out and log back into Content Manager, click on Check for Available Updates.
Uninstall and reinstall Content Manager
After following these steps Content Manager is still displaying the “Buy” button for you map update, please contact our Technical Assistance line for additional help.
Now follow these steps to have Content Manager Search and install any software and/or map updates available for your unit:
Log into your Magellangps.com account through Content Manager if you haven't done so already.
Make sure your GPS device is fully charged.
Connect your device to your computer with a USB cable. If it doesn't turn on automatically, turn it on. The GPS's screen should state that it is in USB mode. Once the installation begins, do not unplug your device.
Launch the free Content Manager software, or download
. here Right click on the Content Manager icon located in the system tray and select “Check for updates now”.
If a map update is available you will be prompted with a screen notifying you of an available map upgrade.
Select “Get Now” to update your device with the available map upgrade.
You may be prompted to update your device software before the map upgrade begins.
Once the map upgrade begins, you will be able to view the download progress via the progress bar. (If the progress bar has been minimized go to the Content Manager icon in your task bar and left click it to display it again)
When the upgrade is complete, restart your GPS device.
NOTE: The system tray is in the lower right hand corner of your computer monitor screen near the clock. Upon purchase of your map subscription a new map may or may not be available. The reason for this is because Magellan periodically updates maps approximately every 3 to 5 months so there may be a time when no updates are available.
