Am I eligible for a free map upgrade?

Magellan generally has map upgrades available every 15 months. If you purchase a GPS navigator during that time you may be eligible for a free map upgrade. Depending on the model and when your GPS was manufactured you may qualify for a free map upgrade within 30 days of purchase. To determine your eligibility you will require a compatible GPS and Content Manager. Content Manager is available free on MagellanGPS.com under the Products -> Vehicle Navigation section. Follow the steps below once Content manager is installed:
Download and install Content Manager on your computer.
Turn on your GPS. Wait for the menu to appear and connect to your Computer using the USB cable provided. (

Content manager will automatically prompt you about the update (if one is available). If Content Manager does not prompt you, right click on the Content Manager icon located in the system tray and select "Check for updates now". Content Manager will inform you if there is a map and software update available and if you qualify for a free map update the word “Free’ will be displayed.
NOTE 1:
System tray is in the lower right hand corner of your computer monitor screen near the clock

If you are prompted to “BUY” a map upgrade and have purchased your GPS within the last 60 days you will need to contact technical support at 800-707-9971. Please have your purchase receipt available, as you may be asked to email/fax a copy into our support center for proper validation. Click
