 Why does my Magellan RoadMate sometimes take so long to start up?
Article Your Magellan RoadMate is equipped with standby mode. When in standby mode your Magellan RoadMate will start up quicker than if it was completely powered off. To place your receiver in standby mode slide and hold the power switch for 2 - 3 seconds. This will start the countdown timer. You may either press Power Down Now or let the receiver turn itself off. Now the receiver is in standby mode. To resume from standby mode slide and hold the power switch for 2 - 3 seconds. This will power the unit back on. Note: If the receivers battery power is to low when in standby mode it may completely power off.
