Article If you have not used your GPS in some time it may take a long time to get its first fix, the reason is the GPS has old almanac data of the satellites so it takes time to update itself. You will want to follow these steps below

1 Press Menu -> select Preferences.
2 Under preferences select re-start GPS.
3 Follow on screen initialization instructions.
4 Set unit outside with a clear view sky for 10 min.

If the steps above do not solve the issue you will need to clear all memory. This will erase all Waypoints (make sure you save them to your PC or write them down if you do not want to lose them). To clear all memory turn the GPS receiver off then press ZOOM OUT, GOTO, POWER all at the same time for a few seconds. The receiver should turn back on and prompt you to initialize the unit.
