 What is a nautical mile?
Article A nautical mile is a measurement of distance used in marine applications. Based on the circumference of the Earth, divided into 360 degrees, each degree is then divided into 60 minutes. One minute of the arc of the Earth is equal to 1 nautical mile. It is 1,852 meters or 1.852 kilometers – 6,076 feet or 1.1508 miles.

NOTE: If your GPS is set to Nautical miles it will display speed and distance in (nm) i.e. 25nmPH To change this setting select Menu>View>Profiles>select Profile>select display>select distance.
