Article
To get your PC to recognize your Magellan RoadMate take the following steps:
Turn on your RoadMate.
Wait for your RoadMate to be completely powered on (main menu displayed).
Connect your RoadMate to your computer using the supplied USB cable.
Wait until the “USB connected” message appears on your RoadMate
If the Microsoft found new wizard appears:
Select “No, not this time” and press “Next” button.
Select the “Recommended” installation and press “Next” button.
If the “Windows Signature” window appears, press “Continue” button.
When the hardware wizard has finished, press “Finish” button.
Wait up to 60 seconds.
Right click on the “My Computer” icon on your Desktop and select “Explore” to open the Windows file explorer.
If you see “Magellan or TFAT” drive, your RoadMate is properly connected to your computer.
If you do not see a “Magellan or TFAT” drive, disconnect the receiver from the USB cable and reboot your computer.
Return to step 1.
If the Windows file explorer does not show the a “Magellan or TFAT “ drive, your computer may not meet the minimum system requirements.
