Article Follow the instructions below to download a software update and upgrade your dash camera firmware.

Part 1: Perform a Software Update.
  1. From the Map screen, tap the Settings icon. (If your device has already found the update, it will skip directly to Step 4. If it does not, follow Steps 2 and 3.)
  2. Tap Information on the left Settings menu.
  3. Tap Check for Updates on the right Settings menu. You should see an indication that 1 New Update is available.
  4. Tap Update next to the Software Update option.
  5. Wait for the new software version to download.
  6. Tap OK when the update has been downloaded.
  7. Tap OK when the resource files are ready to install.
  8. Wait for the resource files to install, then tap Done once they’ve been installed to restart your device.

Part 2: Perform a Dash Camera Firmware Update.

After your device restarts, you will be prompted to begin a firmware update for your integrated dash camera. The on-screen prompts will guide you through the following update process:
  1. A firmware update is available for the integrated dash camera. Tap Upgrade Now to be redirected to the Settings menu.
  2. Tap Update Dash Camera Firmware in the Settings menu (you should see a notification that says NEW next to this option).
  3. Remove the microSD card from the slot on the top of the unit and insert into the slot on the left side of the unit. The download will begin automatically.
  4. Wait for the dash camera firmware files to download.
  5. Once the firmware download is complete, remove the microSD card from the slot on the left side of the unit and place it back in the slot on the top of the unit. The upgrade will begin automatically.
  6. Wait for the dash camera firmware upgrade to finish. You’ll see a pink progress bar during this process; DO NOT power off your device during this process.
  7. Once the pink progress bar disappears, hold down the POWER button to turn off your device, then hold down the POWER button again to turn your device back on.

Your dash camera firmware update is now complete. Should you experience any issues during the upgrade process, please contact Magellan Customer Support.
