Article When using SmartGPSeco.com to update your RoadMate a browser plugin must be installed. If the plugin does not install properly the first time please disable any security programs running in the background and try the installation again.

Once the plugin is installed see if an update is available for your RoadMate.

To check that you have the latest map for your device:

  1. Connect your device to your computer using a USB cable.
  2. Log into smartgpseco.com with your Magellan GPS account.
  3. Click on the *Update *tab.
  4. Click *Download *if you see a notification for a map update.
  5. Note: Do not disconnect your device while the map update is installing. Map update may take up to a few hours to install.
  6. Unplug the USB cable and disconnect your device from the computer.

Your device map is now up to date.

To Update Your Software:

To check that you have the latest software for your device:

  1. Log into SmartGPS Eco with your Magellan GPS account.
  2. Connect your device to your computer using a USB cable.
  3. Click on the *Update *tab.
  4. Click *Download *if you see a notification that says “Software update: There is improved software available for your device.”
  5. Note: Do not disconnect your device while the software update is installing.
  6. Disconnect your device from your computer.

Your software is now up to date.
